As a key member of our senior leadership team who reports to the president and functionally to the chief information officer, the IT director has the overall responsibility for applications, infrastructure and support activities in Europe (and India). Your mission is to provide outstanding service to our internal and external customers by understanding our operational and strategic business goals, and defining and implementing the IT strategy to support those goals.
How can you help us?
Recommend and implement specific IT solutions to meet the business requirements.
Ensure that all IT solutions and projects meet the appropriate business goals, whether by driving growth, producing cost efficiencies, or responding to legal, technical or compliance imperatives.
Present new projects to and obtain approval from senior business leaders by explaining the benefits, solution details, cost and ROI.
Define and implement service-level agreements and measurements to ensure the highest possible service across all areas of IT, but especially in relation to application and infrastructure performance, and availability.
Have overall financial responsibility for IT in Europe, including budgeting, expense control, and implementation of additional measurements to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Negotiate and manage all major IT contracts, both new and ongoing.
Lead, motivate and provide clear direction and guidance to IT managers and personnel located in multiple countries.
Leverage global shared services, particularly with respect to infrastructure and security.
Work with IT resources in India.
Are you a match?
Proven experience of at least 5 years in a senior IT management role in a large multinational, matrix organisation
Leveraging resources that are located across multiple countries in Europe and offshore (India and US)
Effective leadership that provides clear direction, motivation and support to a diverse team
Implementing major applications that are specifically drawn from more than one of the following areas: ERP, CRM, WMS, e-commerce, mobile technology and apps, data warehousing and big data, master data management, application and system integration technologies
Server and network architecture, including security design and cloud vs. on-premise architecture
Project implementation in several of the following areas: supply chain, finance, sales systems, warehousing and operations, manufacturing, and B2B integration
Managing compliance- and data privacy-related, and legal topics
Robust B2B e-commerce implementations and environments is a significant plus.
Familiarity with European data protection principles
Solution- and result-oriented; you really enjoy working in an international and fast-paced environment
You enjoy handling business challenges and working as part of a hardworking team
Very strong sense of organisation and priority management; ability to leverage the workload of the team with existing (limited) resources
Excellent communication skills
You speak English fluently; another European language is a plus
