Senior Project Manager
We are seeking an experienced project manager to lead the end-to-end execution of complex projects with a key focus on acquisitions. If you are a strategic thinker and problem solver with a proven track record in project management, we want to hear from you!
Activities and responsibilities
Lead complex projects: End-to-end execution of projects and programs, with an emphasised focus on acquisition projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing.
Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders at various levels of interest and influence, ensuring continuous engagement and buy-in throughout a project’s lifecycle.
Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams across different departments (IT, Finance, Legal, Operations, HR, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, etc.) to manage integration activities and ensure smooth transitions post-acquisition.
Budget management: Oversee the financial aspects of projects, ensuring that they are delivered within predetermined budgets. Calculate and evaluate ROI (return on investment) of various projects.
Reporting and communication: In accordance with PMO requirements, provide clear and transparent reporting on project progress, risks, and outcomes to senior management, including steering committees and key stakeholders. Ensure timely updates are provided to all relevant parties.
Change management: Lead change management efforts to help stakeholders and teams transition through the acquisition process, including communications, training, and process adjustments.
Risk management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to project delivery. Develop contingency plans to address potential roadblocks and ensure that the project progresses on schedule.
Job requirements
Required professional skills and experience:
Experience in acquisition projects: proven experience managing large-scale acquisition projects, including pre- and post-merger activities, due diligence and integration.
Stakeholder management: demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder groups, including C-suite executives, senior leaders, external vendors, and teams with varying levels of interest and influence. Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships.
Project/program management expertise: minimum of 8+ years of experience in project and program management, with a successful track record of leading cross-functional initiatives. PMP or other relevant certifications are highly preferred.
Analytical and problem-solving skills: proficiency in identifying issues, analysing data and implementing effective solutions within tight timelines.
Excellent communication skills: strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to various audiences.
Financial acumen: strong financial management skills with the ability to track and report on project budgets and expenditures.
Agility and adaptability: ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Change management: experience leading change management efforts during periods of transition, especially within the context of acquisitions or mergers.
Other requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, management, finance, or a related field.
- Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.
- Experience working within the medical supply industry would be welcomed.
- Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile.
- Familiarity with project management tools.
