Demand Planner
We are looking for a Demand Planner to join our team. Within the Supply Chain Manufacturing Europe department, you will hold a portfolio of manufactured finished products in line with your workload. As such, you will draw up sales forecasts for finished products to guarantee our customers permanent availability in our European distribution warehouses.
This is a full-time position, based in Zutphen. You will report to the Demand Manager and work closely with the Sales teams, Customer Service, Product Marketing Divisions, Logistics, Operations and Finance.
Activities and responsibilities
- Build sales forecasts, in conjunction with the Divisions and Sales
- Improve Forecast accuracy and Bias which are the key performance indicators
- Inventory management (in terms of coverage rate), excess and obsoletes
- Participation in defined improvement projects
- Use of reporting (alerts and performance) and information systems linked to its activities
- Make proposals and participate in projects for continuous improvement of processes and tools
- Active communication with various departments and internal customers (Divisions, sales, customer service, procurement, production planning, quoting, etc.)
- Monthly demand review meetings to improve forecast reliability
- Protecting stock and securing deliveries for certain defined customers
- Alert to shortages and risks of shortages, anticipate and find solutions to various contingencies
- Document and escalate main issues via the S&OP process, showing the different options and a recommendation
- Operational management of demand & forecasts for a portfolio of finished manufactured products:
- Drawing up sales forecasts based on historical demand data
- Take into account commercial information (opportunities, risks, calls for tender)
- Share and validate sales forecasts with Divisions and Sales Department through monthly Demand Reviews
- Conduct Forecast accuracy and Over-Under Consumption analyses by country to improve forecast accuracy and reliability
- Avoid overstocking and lead reviews for the products concerned
- Evaluate the feasibility of commercial launches and manage product launches and end-of-life (phase-in, phase-out, switches).
