Account Receivable Specialist
Purpose
The primary purpose of the Accounts Receivable Specialist at Medline is to ensure timely and accurate collection of customer payments. This includes monitoring account activity, identifying overdue balances, maintaining communication with clients, and documenting all collection efforts to support financial accuracy and cash flow efficiency.
How can you help us?
- Serve as the main point of contact for assigned public sector clients and regions in Spain, using phone, email, and electronic platforms (including external tools and Medline's internal system, Ediwin).
- Maintain daily updates in CashNow, including payment statuses, issues, payment confirmations, and relevant collection notes.
- Manage the same responsibilities for assigned private sector clients.
- Onboard new clients by collecting, reviewing, and archiving all required authorizations and supporting documentation.
- Reconcile client account statements (public and private) and coordinate with the Customer Service team to resolve any discrepancies.
- Record and reconcile incoming payments in Spanish bank accounts as part of monthly closing processes.
- Prepare and manage direct debit payments, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Receive and reconcile checks and promissory notes from clients using these payment methods.
- Generate and maintain accounts receivable reports to support month-end closing and ongoing collection actions.
- Provide support during internal and external audits, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance.
Are you our match
- Language Skills: Bilingual proficiency in Portuguese and Spanish; fluent in English.
- Experience: A minimum of one year of proven experience as a Collection Specialist or in a similar role.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with billing procedures, collection techniques, and relevant debt collection laws; proficient in MS Office and database management.
- Performance Orientation: Comfortable working towards targets while managing stressful situations with patience and composure.
- Communication & Negotiation: Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
- Education: High school diploma required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is considered a plus.
