Purpose
As Business Development Manager (BDM) you will be responsible for driving profitable growth through hospital distributors across the Nordics and Baltics.
You will be focusing on developing and expanding distributor partnerships, increasing sales and margins, and strengthening Medline’s position within hospital customers by ensuring strong execution, pricing discipline and alignment between distributors and internal teams.
This role is fully remote, but you will need to be based in Sweden.
How can you help us?
Develop and execute distributor business plans to grow new and existing hospital business
Lead joint business planning with distributors, defining clear targets, priorities and action plans
Drive sales growth and margin improvement across assigned distributor accounts
Build and maintain long-term, strategic relationships with distributor management and key hospital stakeholders
Coordinate closely with Clinical Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Customer Service to ensure consistent execution
Ensure pricing discipline and margin optimisation through regular performance reviews
Support and coordinate new product launches and value propositions through distributors
Take ownership of customer and distributor complaints for assigned accounts, ensuring structured resolution
Provide accurate sales forecasts, pipeline visibility and regular business updates
Maintain high-quality CRM data to support performance tracking and decision-making
Proactively challenge distributor and customer assumptions to identify growth opportunities
Collect market intelligence and customer feedback, translating insights into actions for internal stakeholders
Are you a match?
Successfully completed higher education or equivalent experience in business, healthcare or a related field
Minimum 5 years of B2B sales or business development experience, ideally in medical devices or hospital supply
Proven experience working with hospital distributors
Strong understanding of hospital procurement and tender processes
Solid analytical skills with experience in pricing, margin and commercial performance management
Able to build credibility and trust with senior internal and external stakeholders
Fluent in English and at least one relevant local language
Ability to travel approximately 30-40% of the work time
To succeed in the role, you need to be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment as well as have strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
